Jerry Regier, Christian International Adoption - Why We Chose Haiti For Our International Adoption

Jerry Regier Hello and thanks for stopping by!My name is Mike and my wife Jenny and I have adopted an impressive 4 year-old girl from Haiti, the 2nd poorest country in the world. We found an orphanage in Haiti, which has an enormous need for Christian parents to step up and see the need to help children who need to emerge from poverty, hunger and no way out.We started looking for the right path to take in 2004 and culminated in an orphanage, which was run by a Haitian pastor awesome. He dedicated his entire life to helping kids adopted on Haiti. We did not actually go through an agency, but directly orphanage, where they were very, very good to work. They are Christians and we felt comfortable that everything is in place and the place .. And it was.2nd Haiti is the poorest country in the world, and the government has implemented a ban that once a child reaches the age of 16, they are unable to be adopted.Kayden (which we adopted) qualified for the state spelling, and the state after the speech to respond only to the United States for 1 1 / 2 years, we believe that really surprising given the fact that she can hardly speak a little English when she arrived in the USWe actually met Kaydens birth parents, it was very moving and powerful experience, they simply could not provide enough food for their children. Now we have to help support them. The average annual income is $ 300.Reasons why we chose Haiti:1. The cost. It's only $ 9000 for the first child and if you adopt more than 1, you will get a discount. Our government gives a tax credit of $ 10000 if it balances.2. His relatives. It is international, but its only one or two hours off the tip of Florida, a return ticket is from only $ 500 Iowa. We chose not to adopt locally because of the risk of birth parents wanted their child back.3. It's safe. Not a good corporate governance who want money under the table.4. Convenience. We did not't have to spend extra money through an agency.5. God led us to them!If you are looking for a place to adopt from this award is well, close to the United States and is run by Christians, this is a great place. There is a discussion group yahoo past, present and future adoptive parents of the orphanage that you would like to get involved and ask questions. Go to groups.yahoo.com HCRM and type in the search box.
